About

View my profile.
Welcome to my blog.
Personally, I don't think I am a person of astronomical consequences. But, someday I want my life to be like what Jim Morrison said :
I see my self as a huge fiery comet, a shooting star.
Everyone stops, points up and gasps "Oh look at that!"
Then- whoosh, and I am gone....and they will never see any thing like it ever again....
and they wont be able to forget me- ever.

Hope you have a pleasant stay here.

Season's Greetings 2010

My 2010 Season's greetings.

Made it in GIMP.
The only trouble is that the image quality is getting compromised online...

A day for the creepy

My 2010 (1'st) halloween design. Created in GIMP.

Used several resources from the web. Ghosts from coloring pages, moon brushes from http://hawksmont.deviantart.com/, halloween brushes (cat, graveyard, witch, bats) by redheadstock, swirl brushes by obsidian dawn. Used path tool intensively on the spider web.

Do let me know what you think of it.

Riding Gypsy

“All of life is a journey which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there.”

Another long weekend in sight....This time it will be a cabin at the smokey mountains. Waiting to add a new chapter of experiences in my life. The last trip was quite eventful. Did things which I would not have done in India. Its not that it could be done only here....but somehow I know....In spite of being a Keralite, I have not seen 90% of the places in Kerala! My dad still talks about Mumbai darshan. I guess, I have scheduled it for my old age.

Happy Friendship Day!!!

Just something for this friendship day.....

I miss my friends......Here's wishing you guys a very Happy Friendship Day!

My very first illrstration...

Had always been uncomfortable using the freeform and path tools. These days, with only GIMP at my disposal, I decided to try it out. Finally I am done with my very first illustration - "Hungry".

Althought GIMP does not have all the amazing features of photoshop...but its a good tool to satisfy your creative "hunger". I felt the path tool in GIMP to be more easy to use.

filling the gap

Last one year was some what slow, quite and lazy.
Luckily I have some pics to cover up the holes and keep me reminded of the events and changes in my life.
Unfortunately, could not find all the pics.....will post, when I lay my hands on them.

Guess, the continuing adventure and companionship in my life started with my engagement.

For my valentine......

Was cleaning my inbox when I bumped into this card that I made for "My Valentine" on our first valentines day. At that time, I was quite embarassed to publish this any where. Used to wonder what others would think....was basically shy about showing my love and affection in public.

Nostalgia....

Its very beautiful here, where I live.
So many trees and plants.....what can I say.. Its like a mini forest here, with deer and rabbits being a common sight. I miss my camera. Sandy misses it too. We missed the snow...just in time for the spring- The cherry blossoms make such a beautiful picture..... and now the summer.
I wonder how hot it might be in chennai this year. I miss India...everything about it. The busy streets, the smell of the dust, soiled dresses and boots from rains, the overcrowded trains and busses, pan spots on white walls, The cacaphony of fighting crows...crows...crows...its strange...I don't find much of crows here. Its been weeks...may be months since I have spotted one.

Last work before the sabbatical

Considering the time and occasion, its turned out to be OK.
But, I love it. After all its my wedding invitation.....
.....feeling nostalgic.
